Half metallic brake pads are mainly composed of 30% -65% metallic materials such as copper and iron. The characteristics of this type of brake pad are fast heat dissipation, good high-temperature resistance, and relatively low price. However, due to the presence of metal materials, there is a significant amount of noise generated during braking, and the wear on the brake discs is also significant. In addition, the friction coefficient of these brake pads is generally 0.38, and their service life is relatively short.

The most basic modification of the brake system is to replace it with high-performance brake fluid. When brake oil deteriorates due to high temperatures or absorbs moisture from the air, it can cause a decrease in the boiling point of brake oil. Boiling brake fluid can cause the brake pedal to become empty, which can suddenly occur during severe, frequent, and continuous use of the brakes. The boiling of brake oil is the biggest problem faced by the braking system. The brake must be replaced regularly, and the bottle should be sealed tightly when stored after opening to prevent moisture in the air from coming into contact with the brake oil. Some car models may limit the brand of brake fluid used because some brake fluids can corrode rubber products. It is necessary to refer to the warning in the user manual to avoid misuse, especially when using brake fluids containing silicone components. More importantly, do not mix different brake oils. For general road vehicles, brake fluid should be replaced at least once a year, while for racing cars, it should be replaced after every race.
